What beta actually means
Generation and embedding cost money per document, so free cannot be the permanent answer for heavy use. Paid tiers are planned, and the terms of service state that accounts may need to move to a paid tier as those costs become clear.
What stays free after the beta has not been decided. Saying so is more useful than implying unlimited free use and then withdrawing it.
Nothing you have already built would be taken away by a pricing change. It would affect what you can add next, and it would be announced before it took effect.
Current limits
- Document ingestion has a per-account allowance, because generation costs real money per page.
- Very large uploads are chunked and queued rather than processed instantly.
- Abuse controls apply, including the acceptable use policy on what may be studied here.
