Terms of Service

The service turns material you bring, or a topic you name, into spaced-repetition practice, and schedules that practice over time.

The service is in Beta. Accounts are free today. There is no card and no trial clock. Free accounts run inside usage limits (a daily allowance of AI generations and a lifetime allowance of uploaded documents) that we may adjust. Your current allowance is shown on your account page.

We intend to introduce paid tiers. Running AI generation and grading costs real money per request, so during and after the Beta period we may change usage limits, move features between tiers, or require an account to move to a paid plan in order to keep using some or all of the service. We may do this at any time.

If a change would require payment to keep using something you are already using, we will give notice on your account page and by email before it takes effect, and you will have the option to export your data and stop rather than pay.

We may also offer team, education, or organisation plans, and price them differently. Nothing here obliges us to keep any specific feature free.

You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. You confirm your age at signup. If we learn an account holder is under 16, we will close the account and delete its data.

You keep every right you already have in the notes, documents, and text you submit. You grant us the licence we need to run the service for you: to store your material, process it (including sending it to AI model providers) to generate and grade study cards, and show it back to you and to people you deliberately share a space with.

You also grant us a licence to retain and analyse your material and study activity internally, so we can operate, debug, evaluate, and improve the service, including the quality of generated and graded cards. That internal work is ours alone.

We do not sell your material, licence it to third parties, publish it, or make it available to other users. Where we use it to improve models or prompts, that work happens in service of this product and under the confidentiality terms of our processors.

Cards, gradings, and summaries are produced by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, even when a card cites a passage. Check anything that matters against the underlying source.

Nothing the service produces is legal, medical, financial, safety, or other professional advice. Catalog courses are study material. They are not training, accreditation, certification, or a substitute for an official course, and completing one certifies nothing.

Do not upload material you have no right to upload. Do not use the service to generate content that is unlawful, that harasses or endangers anyone, or that impersonates a person or an official source.

Do not attempt to bypass usage limits, create accounts in bulk, probe or attack the service or its infrastructure, or point the URL importer at systems you do not control.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, or that is being used in a way that threatens the service for everyone else.

The service is provided as-is and as-available, and Beta software changes often. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or preserved forever, and we disclaim implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Your full data export is available at any time from your account page.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost profits, or the outcome of any exam, assessment, or decision you make using the service.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may close an account for a breach of these terms, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

Deleting your account removes your material and study records from the live service. Aggregated and de-identified information derived from your use, which cannot reasonably be traced back to you, may remain in our internal quality and evaluation records.

If we make a material change, we bump the version of this document and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. We record which version you accepted and when.
